A few years back we fenced approximately 7 acres and planted about 300 trees, mainly native Koa. The trees were doing so well, we decided to do a bigger project.
Early 2020 we decided to plant 4,500 native trees. But first, we needed to fence the entire property or the trees would be eaten by roaming animals.
We know this from experience.
On March 11, a world pandemic was declared. We could no longer hire the company we planned on hiring to dig the holes and plant the trees.
Plan A was nixed.
Then we settled on Plan T.....PlanT Trees.
We rolled up our sleeves and got to business. Yup, that is what we did during all of Covid 2020.
WE PLANTED A FOREST!
By the end of 2020, the first 4,500 trees were planted and thriving.
In 2021, the next 4,200 trees were planted.
We planted a 400 Ag-Forest in 2022.
For 2023, we are hoping to do 2,000 understory with native trees.
